Refund policy

General

In compliance with Distance Selling regulations, Customers need to notify us in writing that they want to cancel within 14 days of receiving their goods. Customers have another 14 days to return the goods once we have been advised.

We will refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. 

All returned Goods must be unused, in the same condition and original packaging, as received by the customer.

Returns must be authorised by a member of our team.  Please email info@thesipemporium.co.uk stating the SKU, quantity and reason for your return.

Please note that return postage must be covered by the customer and we advise to use a trackable shipping service as the responsibility remains with the customer until it has been successfully received by us.

Coffee Appliances & Accessories

The company has a 30 day returns policy. No refund or exchange can be made after 30 days from date of order.

Any returns will be subject to a return fee which will be deducted from your credit / refund (please refer to Returns Fees table below)

Coffee

Under UK distance selling regulations, customers generally have the right to cancel their purchase and return goods within 14 days of receipt. However, as our coffee is sold based on its freshly roasted date and is considered a perishable product likely to deteriorate rapidly, it is exempt from these cancellation rights. Therefore, we do not accept returns or cancellations of coffee once dispatched unless the product is faulty or damaged. This exemption is in line with UK consumer law designed to protect perishable goods sellers and ensure product freshness.

Chocolate

During the 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, customers are entitled to return unopened chocolate for a full refund provided it is returned in substantially the same condition as received. Our artisan chocolate is sensitive to temperature, humidity, and light—store it in a cool, dry place at 15-20°C, away from direct sunlight and strong odours, in its original airtight packaging.

If returned chocolate shows signs of damage such as melting, blooming, or discolouration due to improper storage or handling, we reserve the right to issue a reduced refund of 50% of the purchase price to reflect the diminished resale value, in line with requirements for customers to take reasonable care of goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Proof of purchase

Customers are required to provide evidence of purchase. This could be a sales receipt or other evidence such as a bank statement.
